Lipoprotein(a), or LPa, is a type of lipoprotein in the blood that carries cholesterol around the body. It iis genetically determined. Elevated levels of LPa significantly increase risks for heart attacks and strokes.

LPa levels cannot currently be changed, but if elevated we will have to monitor your other risk factors more closely.
